Day 24: AI as a Creator - Authentic Learning in Action

As we move into the final stretch of the AI in the Classroom Challenge, today’s focus shifts to helping students become creators of knowledge, not just consumers of it.
When students create with AI, they transform understanding into authentic learning. Through tools like HeyGen, learners can design videos that demonstrate mastery of standards, apply higher-order thinking skills, and connect concepts to real-world communication.
This isn’t “one more thing” to add — it’s a Future Ready Studio experience where students analyze, write, create, and share. By producing AI-generated videos, they demonstrate the full range of 21st-century skills: creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Creation makes learning visible — and gives students voice, choice, and confidence in how they show what they know.

​Daily Challenge: Create with AI
​Invite students to showcase their understanding by turning their written analysis or reflection into an AI-generated video using HeyGen or another creative tool.
Steps:
  1. Analyze: Choose a key concept, standard, or excerpt from your lesson.
  2. Write: Draft a 3–5 sentence explanation using academic language.
  3. Create: Use HeyGen (or Canva, Padlet, Canvas Studio, WeVideo) to produce a 45–60 second video that explains or demonstrates learning.
  4. Share: Upload the video to a class Padlet, LMS, or gallery for peer feedback.
  5. Reflect: Comment on two peer videos — focus on clarity, creativity, and tone.
Extension:
Encourage students to build a mini AI Explainer Series — one short video each week that connects to new class topics or themes. Bonus points for creativity, voice, and visual storytelling.
